Adjust timeout for a request

Testfully sets a default timeout of 30 seconds for all requests. You can change this value per request, for all requests within a folder, or for all requests that are sent against an environment.

If the default 30 seconds request timeout is too long or too short for your use case, you can change it in the following ways:

Adjust timeout for a request

  1. Open a request
  2. Click on the Settings tab
  3. Enter a new value for the "Timeout" field.
  4. Click on the "Save" button
  5. Click on the "Send" button to send the request
  6. The request will be sent with the new timeout value

Adjust timeout for all requests within a folder

  1. Hover over a folder
  2. Click on the "..." icon
  3. Click on the "Settings" option
  4. Enter a new value for the "Timeout" field.
  5. Click on the "Save" button
  6. Click on the "Send" button to send a request within the folder
  7. The request will be sent with the new timeout value

Adjust timeout for all requests that are sent against an environment

  1. Open an environment
  2. Click on the Settings tab
  3. Enter a new value for the "Timeout" field.
  4. Click on the "Save" button
  5. Click on the "Send" button to send a request against the environment
  6. The request will be sent with the new timeout value

Resolving timeout value for a request

Testfully resolves the timeout value for a request in the following order:

  1. If the request has a timeout value, use it
  2. If the request is sent against an environment, use the timeout value of the environment
  3. If the request is sent within a folder, use the timeout value of the folder
  4. Use the default timeout value (30 seconds)

Using the default timeout value

If you want to use the default timeout value (30 seconds) for a request, you can do so by following the steps below:

  1. Open a request
  2. Click on the Settings tab
  3. Clear the value for the "Timeout" field.
  4. Click on the "Save" button

Same steps can be used for folders and environments.
